The grandest, most outlandish rock and roll show hell has ever thrown. Halls of Horror is a goldmine of innovation and chaotic madness that defies industry norms and leaves one questioning their sanity. Striking at one’s innermost fears, forcing one to confront a surreal cinema of the macabre Halls of Horror (Palmerton, PA) is unforgettable. The joyous pit of insanity, an experience so violating, so disturbing, and filled with constant uncontrolled aggression and psychotic, twisted horror (and fun), the Halls of Horror’s “Blood Experience” continues to defy industry boundaries and is unlike any other attraction in the country. Imagine being placed into a nonstop nightmare, beyond any sinister horror movies or ideas you can conjure, stripped of any sense of control, and at the gleeful mercy of a barrage of murderous psychos that will use YOU as their helpless toy. There is dark humor, scenes of sexual nature, and moments where you will feel you are at the closest point of death possible.

The lines of reality are blurred, and you are entirely lost in the mental, physical, and emotionally exhausting madness for some. What makes Halls of Horror so unique is every year, they continue to reinvent and innovate these moments of grind-house style fear and allow their talented professional actors to not only guide guests on their journey into their hell. The acting performance and attraction design are so unique, so drastically brutal, evil, and in many cases funny; this off-color attraction is a MUST visit for any horror fan and those who “think” they know what haunted attractions are all about. If you can submit and allow yourself to become a part of this insane universe just for a brief moment in time, you will experience the most mind-blowing, terrifying, and always disturbing experience where there is so much joy and happiness centered on YOUR torment. No character is the same, no scripted canned lines, and you cannot hide from the bloodiest show on earth.

Imagine an experience, not just a haunted attraction that places YOU in the center of a real-life horror movie, one that leaves psychological scars, yet at the same time has mastered the unique achievement of blending a “classic” haunted house with “extreme” adult entertainment. Off-color, sexually suggestive, at times darkly humorous, and always filled with nonstop surprises, Halls of Horror is a twisted mind-fuck of epic proportions that has evolved in its year of slumber into as close to as an immersive horror simulation one can ever imagine. Halls of Horror is distinct “adult-themed,” is unapologetic in its presentation, and very blunt that this place is designed to rob you of your innermost proclivities and put you at the mercy of its diabolical design. Halls of Horror is unlike ANY other haunted attraction perhaps in the country. Halls of Horror is an entity that is alive, and the staff, actors, and management create a professional, first-class submersion into the deep depths of depravity without ever crossing the line of pure violence and chaos. While a base option exists, we recommend the infamous “Blood Experience,” a genuine “horror simulator” within the context of a classical funhouse-walkthrough style attraction.

From an attraction design overview, Halls of Horror is custom-built to represent scenes akin to the most brutal scenes of horror one could imagine. It remains, in many respects, a classic haunted house by its structure. “The Blood Experience,” by its namesake, is designed to give guests a more intense, interactive show, and as usual, we left covered in everything from “blood” to shaving cream and sprinkles. Scene design is unique to this attraction; it is, in many cases, X-Rated, and the art design conveys a sense of chaos and violence. After we made our way cautiously into a dungeon, we encountered a variety of numerous scenes filled with interactive, disturbing moments that are designed to leave mental scars and go well beyond what one would expect in a haunted house. Performances are infused with dark humor and new twists on classic themes; even iconic “horror” characters such as Beetlejuice are reimagined into sick, perverted psychos that will push one to their very limits while maintaining complete control at all times.

Each performance and theme are unique and again adult orientated. From encounters with meth-addicted sexual deviants to witnessing the “live birth” of an inbred hillbilly offspring, this is an attraction that is meant to disturb, is hands-on, and also aimed at stripping away at one’s innermost psychological core. Early in the attraction, we were forced to “confess our sins” then locked in a cage with a “gloryhole in an abandoned “coal mine” to be tormented only by chainsaw-yielding psychopaths. In one of perhaps the most intense, disturbing, and creatively brutal encounters, we entered the den of “Uncle Touchy,” an androgynous serial killer mixed with a children’s television host that has embraced a thirst for blood. The performance and theatrics (and tricks) utilized in this scene are mind-blowing, and the actor’s performance makes you “believe” just for a moment that the experience is all too real. Not all encounters are so mentally and physically jarring, and some meetings with the depraved characters embrace a demented sense of humor. For example, a visit with the “Doctor” allows each guest the opportunity to perform surgery on each other, and the “ice cream” man loves to assault his victims on toilet seats with “chocolate and sprinkles.”

Halls of Horror is for those yearning for a next-level show, something so different that forces you to submit and feel helpless, and once again, it is the unique “characters” defined in this show that are the true “stars” of this one-of-a-kind show that continues to carve an innovative path in the immersive-entertainment industry.
One of the finest, most unique shows horror fans can ever visit; we highly recommend you visit the Halls of Horror, see what “next level” adult-themed haunting can be, and just hope you are prepared for an experience that plunges you into the biggest party and metal concert hell ever hosted! Despite its intense and downright disturbing presentation and execution, those willing to “let go” of their reality and embrace the chaotic madness spawned by the entire attraction and its “characters” will likely leave with massive smiles and an indescribable sense of achievement. Oddly enough, being pinned against walls, victimized by knives, chainsaws, forced into hog pens, and creepily accosted by “Beetlejuice” (each situation is far more mind-blowing and terrifying than written) leaves each guest with a sense of accomplishment as well as lasting memories. Halls of Horror trains its staff to be vigilant in responding to guest responses and always maintains its core focus that this is a “haunted house.” Safety and professionalism are essential to this innovative attraction that is every bit as “extreme” and as non-PC as advertised. Blunt in its advertising and unapologetic in reality, Halls of Horror is “hardcore,” it is mature, obscene, and reaches into the pit of humanity to find the root of horror entertainment.

Halls of Horror is a raucous party set in a blood-soaked, vile vision of hell where the inhabitants play with and torment those unsuspecting guests brave enough to embrace and submit to “The Blood Experience.” Always an adventure, once again, we found ourselves in complete shock at the endless surprises and new scenes/interactions with the various clowns, serial killers, and mutated, bloodthirsty hillbillies that enjoy Adderall, PBR, and the taste of human entrails. Always off-color, designed to offend, and do so without apology blatantly, there is never a moment where one can rest or feel at ease, driving one to total mental and physical exhaustion. Adding new scenes this year and featuring scenes that have become classics, we loved a twisted game show, “Wheel of Misfortune,” and classic scenes involving a murderous game with “Uncle Touchy,” a meth-addicted hillbilly who violated us on his grimy bed, witnessed a live “birth” in a redneck shack, were pinned against a wall in an old “coal mine,” almost served for dinner by a cook, made into human ice cream cones by a twisted female clown, and exposed to grotesque body fluids by the orderlies and inhabitants of an “asylum” in this constant stream of insanity masked as a haunted house. Never once put in harm’s way, soaked from head to toe in blood, the entire experience may feel like a blur, a nightmare, a moment of joy and escapism created by the one-of-a-kind experience at the Halls of Horror!
